Having celebrated their 50th anniversary last year, the City of Plymouth Pipe Band was founded by a former member of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders and was known as the Plymouth Argyll Pipe Band. The band later became Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regimental Association Pipes and Drums, and 1985 changed its name to City of Plymouth Pipe Band and is honoured to have the Lord Mayor of Plymouth as Patron. The band performs at many displays, carnivals and ceremonial events all over the West Country. The City of Plymouth Pipe Band welcomes new members, including learners and it's free!
