Teignmouth is one of Devon's oldest seaside resorts and is located below the Haldon Hills and on the estuary of the River Teign.

One of the best things about Teignmouth is that the centre of town is flat, making it perfect for wandering along the promenade or going shopping. There are a variety of shops in Teignmouth including national chains and many local independent stores.

Dartmoor National Park's eastern approach or the city of Exeter can be reached by road in 30 minutes whilst Plymouth is about one hour's drive. There are public transport links from nearby Torbay and the market town of Newton Abbot.

For more information visit Visit South Devon or Visit England.

Car Parks

Teignmouth is well served by public transport (see below) and where possible we would encourage festival goers to visit the festival by public transport. However, there are a number of pay and display car parks located in Teignmouth including The Point (right on the seafront), East Cliff (on the road to Dawlish), The Docks, Brunswick Street and other smaller ones, for example, the car park at Polly Steps.

The nearest car parks to our venue at St James Church, are Teign Street Car Park or at Teignmouth Train Station.

Toilets

Teignmouth has many public toilets scattered around, including at the back of Wetherspoons, East Cliff, at the Point, in East Cliff Car Park and the Den.

Information provided by Teignmouth Town Council as of 2.4.25

Accessible toilet facilities are available at The Den and Lower Brook Street toilet blocks.

Baby change facilities are available in the Den accessible toilet and in the Ladies at The Point toilets.

Children

Teignmouth has a number of facilities available for children on the seafront including the Pier, Mini Golf, Tennis Courts, large children's play area with a seasonal wet play feature, and a lido. Nearby in South Devon there is Shaldon Zoo, Paignton Zoo, Quay West Water Park, Crealy Adventure Park and many more.

Stewarding at Teignmouth Folk Festival

Teignmouth Folk Festival relies on donations, sponsorship and street collections for funding to enable it’s continuation year on year.

We are grateful for the volunteers who give their time, energy and support in enabling this to happen. They bring with them so much enthusiasm, good will and good cheer to help to create the lovely atmosphere that is Teignmouth Folk Festival.

Stewarding mainly involves collecting donations with a bucket but there are also roles at the indoor venues such as collecting entrance fees and ensuring the comfort and safety of the audience.

If you would like to be a part of this team you will be guaranteed a warm welcome, please contact us via the website.
